Vivant une fin d\u2019ann\u00e9e un peu bouscul\u00e9e, je n\u2019ai pas le temps d\u2019alimenter ce blog par un post \u00ab\u00a0normal\u00a0\u00bb. Je me contenterai de rapprocher deux pages de comics, dont, \u00e0 ma connaissance, on n\u2019a pas jusqu\u2019ici soulign\u00e9 que l\u2019une est en dette envers l\u2019autre.<\/p>\n

En 1968, Jim Steranko avait fait sensation en ouvrant l\u2019\u00e9pisode \u00ab Who is Scorpio\u00a0? \u00bb inaugurant le nouveau cycle d\u2019aventures du super-h\u00e9ros Nick Fury, agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.<\/em>, par deux pages alignant quelque seize vignettes muettes.<\/p>\n

Vingt ans plus tard, Alan Moore et Dave Gibbons ont adress\u00e9 un clin d\u2019\u0153il \u00e0 cette entr\u00e9e en mati\u00e8res silencieuse. L\u2019unique planche muette de Watchmen <\/em>(si l\u2019on excepte les fameuses splash pages<\/em> qui ouvrent le dernier chapitre) n\u2019en constitue pas tout \u00e0 fait l\u2019incipit mais intervient tout de m\u00eame tout au d\u00e9but, puisque c\u2019est la cinqui\u00e8me du chapitre un.<\/p>\n

Le silence est loin d’\u00eatre le seul \u00e9l\u00e9ment commun aux deux pages. Dans l’une et l’autre, un homme gravit, de nuit, au moyen d\u2019un filin, la fa\u00e7ade d\u2019un immeuble. Les cases sont \u00e9tir\u00e9es verticalement. On retrouve des effets de plong\u00e9e et de contre-plong\u00e9e. La lune est pleine et \u00e9claire la sc\u00e8ne. L\u2019ombre qui mange le visage de Rorschach dans la case 4 qui ne rappelle le bandeau noir occultant l\u2019\u0153il gauche de Nick Fury. Et m\u00eame s\u2019il ne s\u2019agit pas d\u2019une arme, l\u2019engin qu\u2019on lui voit empoigner dans la case 6 pr\u00e9sente quelque similitude avec le mat\u00e9riel de combat du vigile en vert et jaune dessin\u00e9 par Steranko.<\/p>\n
