(7) Un humour venu d\u2019ailleurs<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Nourris par les Monthy Python et cousins de Gary Larson, Luc Cromheecke et Laurent Letzer se sont connus \u00e0 l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie des Beaux-Arts d\u2019Anvers. On les a d\u00e9couverts en France au milieu des ann\u00e9es 1980 avec l\u2019in\u00e9narrable Tom Carbone <\/em>dans Spirou<\/em>. Plunk<\/em> appara\u00eet quelque vingt ans plus tard, en 2006, dans le m\u00eame hebdomadaire (et sa version flamande Robbedoes<\/em>), repris apr\u00e8s quelques mois dans le quotidien n\u00e9erlandais De Volkskrant<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Le petit extraterrestre rose \u00e9tait auparavant un personnage secondaire de la s\u00e9rie Taco Zip<\/em>, publi\u00e9e dans Spirou<\/em> huit ans plus t\u00f4t. Il se verra consacrer trois albums chez Dupuis entre 2007 et 2009, tandis qu\u2019\u00e0 Amsterdam les \u00e9ditions Oogachtend lui consacreront en 2021\u00a0une int\u00e9grale de 152 pages : Plunk\u00a0! Director\u2019s cut<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Que Plunk soit un extraterrestre est de peu d\u2019incidence\u00a0: il pourrait \u00eatre n\u2019importe quel quidam, c\u2019est un personnage disponible pour tous les emplois. On le voit notamment jouer au golf, pique-niquer ou promener un chien. Cependant les auteurs multiplient les variations sur ce poncif du dessin d\u2019humour, qui nous est devenu familier\u00a0: le naufrag\u00e9 sur une \u00eele d\u00e9serte minuscule couronn\u00e9e d\u2019un unique palmier. J\u2019en ai compt\u00e9 dix-neuf\u00a0: une histoire en deux pages, onze planches-gags et sept strips ind\u00e9pendants. Et sur un sujet aussi rebattu, les auteurs parviennent \u00e0 surprendre en repoussant les limites de l\u2019absurde.<\/p>\n

Comme le Nono de Thiriet \u00e9voqu\u00e9 dans l\u2019\u00e9pisode pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent, notre Plunk commence par voir arriver sur son \u00eelot des caisses en bois dont le contenu, toujours d\u00e9concertant, fournit au gag son pr\u00e9texte et son carburant. La premi\u00e8re contient un marteau et un burin. Aussit\u00f4t Plunk s\u2019improvise sculpteur. Du bloc de pierre g\u00e9ant qui se dresse au centre de son refuge, il fait surgir un cocotier min\u00e9ral. Mais alors qu\u2019il se repose au pied de son \u0153uvre, lui tombe sur la t\u00eate une noix\u2026 de pierre.<\/p>\n

Autre planche\u00a0: l\u2019\u00eelot comprend deux palmiers. Une premi\u00e8re caisse arrive, contenant une tron\u00e7onneuse. Plunk d\u00e9bite l\u2019un des deux arbres. Il est sur le point d\u2019achever son travail quand s\u2019\u00e9choue une deuxi\u00e8me caisse, qui contient\u2026 un hamac\u00a0!<\/p>\n

Troisi\u00e8me variation. La caisse contient tout le n\u00e9cessaire pour transformer l\u2019\u00eelot en terrain de golf. Je vous laisse d\u00e9couvrir la morale de l\u2019histoire, d’une \u00e9vidence imparable.<\/p>\n

Un deuxi\u00e8me \u00e9l\u00e9ment qui fait partie de la panoplie des naufrag\u00e9s est la bouteille \u00e0 la mer. L\u00e0 encore, Cromheecke et Letzer renouvellent le sujet.<\/p>\n

Avant de glisser un message de d\u00e9tresse dans la bouteille, Plunk commence par vider celle-ci du whisky dont elle est encore aux trois-quarts emplie. Il est alors tellement ivre que ce n\u2019est pas le message qu\u2019il glisse \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur, mais la plume qui lui a servi \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9crire.<\/p>\n

Dans un autre gag, la bouteille qu\u2019il jette \u00e0 la mer lui est rapport\u00e9e dans la gueule par un phoque, sur le mode du chien qui rapporte le b\u00e2ton.<\/p>\n

Le pigeon voyageur est \u00e9galement un moyen de communiquer avec le monde ext\u00e9rieur. Quand l\u2019un de ces volatiles se pose sur son \u00eelot, Plunk a l\u2019id\u00e9e de lui attacher un message, que l\u2019oiseau va porter jusqu\u2019entre les mains du chef d\u2019un restaurant parisien. Il revient porter sa r\u00e9ponse au naufrag\u00e9, r\u00e9ponse qui n\u2019est autre qu\u2019une recette\u2026 de pigeon\u00a0!<\/p>\n

Ainsi va la vie pour Plunk, le petit extraterrestre qui n\u2019est finalement pas plus d\u00e9plac\u00e9 sur une \u00eele perdue au milieu de l\u2019oc\u00e9an qu\u2019au milieu d\u2019une de nos grandes villes.<\/p>\n

La s\u00e9rie flamande confirme avec \u00e9clat que le motif de l\u2019\u00eele d\u00e9serte se pr\u00eate admirablement aux divagations les plus absurdes. L\u2019id\u00e9e qu\u2019un humain puisse survivre longtemps sur un rocher perdu, sans vivres ni eau potable, est \u00e9videmment absurde en soi. Dans cette cage sans murs, l\u2019exacerbation des vices et des vertus de la nature humaine, et l\u2019imagination des dessinateurs pour peupler le vide font le reste. Assur\u00e9ment, le filon n\u2019est pas pr\u00eat de se tarir.<\/p>\n
