En ce mois de juin 2024, le n\u00b0 155 du magazine Strapazin<\/em> f\u00eate les quarante ans d\u2019existence du titre. Belle long\u00e9vit\u00e9 pour ce trimestriel publi\u00e9 \u00e0 Z\u00fcrich quatre fois par an, et reconnu dans toute l\u2019Europe pour la grande pertinence de ses choix artistiques et \u00e9ditoriaux. \u00c0 l\u2019exception d\u2019Anna Sommer et Thomas Ott, on conna\u00eet encore trop peu en terre francophone les dessinateurs issus de la Suisse al\u00e9manique, qui est pourtant une p\u00e9pini\u00e8re de talents.<\/p>\n

Avec un mois d\u2019avance, l\u2019\u00e9quipe de Strapazin <\/em>avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 c\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9 son jubil\u00e9e au Comic-Salon d\u2019Erlangen (la plus importante manifestation de BD en Allemagne, qui existe elle aussi depuis 40 ans) en mai.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Strapazin<\/em> se distingue notamment des autres magazines de cr\u00e9ation sous deux aspects\u00a0: 1\u00b0 les publicit\u00e9s des annonceurs (qui permettent la survie du titre, dont les ventes se sont \u00e9rod\u00e9es pour s\u2019\u00e9tablir actuellement aux environs de 1500 exemplaires) sont toutes dessin\u00e9es par des artistes maison\u00a0; 2\u00b0 un th\u00e8me sp\u00e9cifique est propos\u00e9 pour chaque num\u00e9ro, d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 aussi bien dans la partie r\u00e9dactionnelle qu\u2019\u00e0 travers les planches cr\u00e9\u00e9es pour l\u2019occasion. C\u2019est ainsi que le n\u00b0 152 \u00e9tait consacr\u00e9 aux r\u00e9alit\u00e9s augment\u00e9es, le n\u00b0 48 \u00e0 l\u2019Ukraine, le n\u00b0 143 \u00e0 la non-fiction, le n\u00b0 139 \u00e0 la pand\u00e9mie de Covid, tandis que le n\u00b0 140 ouvrait ses pages aux auteurs qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois.<\/p>\n

Je m\u2019attarderai ici sur le n\u00b0 153 (d\u00e9cembre 2023), qui \u2013 sous une couverture malheureusement assez laide \u2013 s\u2019int\u00e9ressait \u00e0 sept des librairies de bande dessin\u00e9e les plus renomm\u00e9es d\u2019Europe\u00a0: Lambiek, \u00e0 Amsterdam (la doyenne, fond\u00e9e en 1968), Papiers Gras, \u00e0 Gen\u00e8ve (1981), Super H\u00e9ros, \u00e0 Paris (1982), Comix Shop, \u00e0 B\u00e2le (1983), Modern Graphics, \u00e0 Berlin (1991), Het Besloten Land, \u00e0 Leuven (1996), Strips & Stories, \u00e0 Hambourg (2010). Naturellement, d\u2019autres adresses mythiques manquent \u00e0 l\u2019appel, comme The Skull, \u00e0 Bruxelles (1970), Exp\u00e9rience, \u00e0 Lyon (1973), Continuar\u00e0 Comics, \u00e0 Barcelone (1980), ou <\/em>Alessandro Distribuzione, \u00e0 Bologne (1981), pour ne citer que celles-l\u00e0. Mais la s\u00e9lection est de qualit\u00e9 et le num\u00e9ro donne tr\u00e8s envie d\u2019aller pousser les portes de ces lieux de culte tenus par des passionn\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

Pour chacune des sept librairies retenues, un article en retrace l\u2019histoire et en pointe les atouts (emplacement, imports, raret\u00e9s, fr\u00e9quence des \u00e9v\u00e9nements, etc.), tandis que deux dessinateurs ou dessinatrices d\u00e9p\u00each\u00e9.e.s sur place livrent leurs impressions et recueillent la parole des employ\u00e9s sous la forme de reportages graphiques. L\u2019ensemble constitue un bel hommage \u00e0 une profession, en m\u00eame temps qu\u2019une invitation au tourisme b\u00e9d\u00e9philique.<\/p>\n

Le num\u00e9ro suivant (n\u00b0 154, mars 2024) \u00e9tait, lui, consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 la bande dessin\u00e9e arabe. Faisant suite \u00e0 l\u2019exposition pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e en 2018 \u00e0 la Cit\u00e9 de la bande dessin\u00e9e et de l\u2019image, qu\u2019accompagnait un recueil d\u2019histoires courtes \u00e9dit\u00e9 par Actes Sud (La Nouvelle Bande dessin\u00e9e arabe<\/em>, ISBN : 978-2-330-08670-1), ce num\u00e9ro con\u00e7u par Christoph Schuler nous fait d\u00e9couvrir une s\u00e9rie de dessinateurs et dessinatrices originaires de Palestine, d\u2019Egypte, d\u2019Alg\u00e9rie ou du Maroc, tr\u00e8s au point pour la plupart et dont le propos s\u2019assume d\u2019embl\u00e9e comme politique et\/ou f\u00e9ministe.<\/p>\n

Je retiendrai ici la fac\u00e9tieuse et provocante contribution de l\u2019Alg\u00e9rien Salim Zerrouki, dont les deux bandes dessin\u00e9es publi\u00e9es \u00e0 ce jour s\u2019intitulent Comment se d\u00e9barrasser de nous pour un monde meilleur<\/em> (2018) et Comment r\u00e9ussir sa migration clandestine<\/em> (2021, co\u00e9dit\u00e9 par Lalla Hadria Editions et Encre de Nuit). Sa contribution \u00e0 Strapazin<\/em> fait \u00e9cho \u00e0 ce dernier ouvrage. Derri\u00e8re une couverture pastichant les albums de Tintin et Milou, on attend l\u2019aventure annonc\u00e9e sous le titre Mouloud in Europa<\/em>, mais celle-ci tourne court d\u00e8s la premi\u00e8re case, le h\u00e9ros se voyant refuser son visa d\u2019entr\u00e9e dans l\u2019espace Schengen. Il ne reste au lecteur qu\u2019\u00e0 imaginer les p\u00e9rip\u00e9ties qui l\u2019y attendaient, mat\u00e9rialis\u00e9es par une suite de cadres vides.<\/p>\n
