Du regrett\u00e9 Georges Wolinski, on a surtout retenu un dessin abr\u00e9viatif r\u00e9duit \u00e0 l\u2019essentiel, des dialogues percutants, un sens aigu de la d\u00e9rision, une inspiration souvent paillarde n\u2019excluant pas la tendresse. En se penchant sur des d\u00e9buts dans Hara-Kiri<\/em>, on voit bri\u00e8vement affleurer une autre veine, dans laquelle il ne pers\u00e9v\u00e9rera pas\u00a0: celle d\u2019un dessin r\u00e9flexif, interrogeant ses propres codes.<\/p>\n

Ce moment intervient apr\u00e8s sa p\u00e9riode inaugurale, consacr\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019adaptation ou la parodie de textes litt\u00e9raires, dans un style graphique encore touffu, encombr\u00e9 de multiples traits. C\u2019est peu apr\u00e8s qu\u2019il ait d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de simplifier son \u00e9criture graphique \u00e0 l\u2019extr\u00eame que Wolinski donne, \u00e0 un an d\u2019intervalle, les deux pages dont je veux ici dire un mot.<\/p>\n

Soit tout d\u2019abord celle-ci (publi\u00e9e dans Hara-Kiri<\/em> n\u00b0 65, en janvier 1967), compos\u00e9e de six cases quadrangulaires, dans lesquelles \u00e9volue un personnage minuscule. \u00ab J\u2019aime ce carr\u00e9 \u00bb, assure-t-il, avant de se demander ce que serait la vie dans un cercle, ou dans un rectangle, pour aussit\u00f4t se rassurer\u00a0: \u00ab Non c\u2019est parfait un carr\u00e9. Je suis fait pour vivre dans un carr\u00e9 \u00bb, et aussit\u00f4t, de nouveau, mettre en doute cette assertion. Plus que la forme de la case qui lui sert d\u2019habitat, peut-\u00eatre que le vrai probl\u00e8me de cet homme est que cette case soit vide, ce qui le condamne \u00e0 la solitude et \u00e0 l\u2019oisivet\u00e9. Dans ce carr\u00e9, il tourne en rond<\/em> dans ses pens\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

La r\u00e9flexivit\u00e9, ici, tient au fait que le personnage manifeste la conscience du dispositif mat\u00e9riel dont il participe. Il vit dans un espace clos, g\u00e9om\u00e9tris\u00e9, entre quatre traits<\/em>, ce qui, somme toute, est le lot de tous les h\u00e9ros de bande dessin\u00e9e. On ne compte plus les auteurs de bande dessin\u00e9e, de Fred (coll\u00e8gue de Wolinski au sein d\u2019Hara-Kiri<\/em>) \u00e0 Marc-Antoine Mathieu, qui inventeront des m\u00e9ta-r\u00e9cits brodant autour de ce principe \u00e9l\u00e9mentaire.<\/p>\n

Le deuxi\u00e8me exemple qui a retenu mon attention est un dessin paru en pleine page dans Hara-Kiri<\/em> n\u00b0 76, en janvier 1968. Wolinski collaborera quelques mois plus tard \u00e0 L\u2019Enrag\u00e9<\/em>, br\u00fblot d\u2019inspiration anarchiste dans le premier num\u00e9ro s\u2019ouvrait sur les mots \u00ab Ce journal est un pav\u00e9 \u00bb (un pav\u00e9, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire un cube). Mais pour l\u2019heure, ce sont des pr\u00e9occupations plus formelles qui le retiennent. Ce dessin pourrait \u00eatre sign\u00e9 Steinberg. Revoici notre petit bonhomme (si minuscule que, sans la bulle pointant vers lui, on pourrait ne pas le remarquer), qui tient en \u00e9quilibre sur ses pieds une grande composition abstraite toute en volutes et d\u00e9clare\u00a0: \u00ab Sans moi ce dessin serait une \u0153uvre d\u2019art \u00bb. Cette fois, c\u2019est le statut de l\u2019\u0153uvre graphique que Wolinski interroge\u00a0: alors que l\u2019abstraction triomphe sur le march\u00e9 de l\u2019art, notamment am\u00e9ricain, ce graffiti lyrique semble en effet pr\u00e9senter toutes les caract\u00e9ristiques d\u2019une \u0153uvre d\u2019art s\u00e9rieuse\u00a0; mais, par sa seule pr\u00e9sence, le petit bonhomme le ram\u00e8ne du c\u00f4t\u00e9 de ces genres d\u00e9l\u00e9gitim\u00e9s que sont le dessin d\u2019humour, la caricature, la BD, lui \u00f4tant toute recevabilit\u00e9. En mettant en tension le majeur et le mineur, Wolinski adresse un pied de nez \u00e0 l\u2019art officiel et revendique son camp.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
